As you may already know, the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization. The purpose of our organization is to assist our local businesses/members with providing them the necessary resources for them to succeed in our community. We have been able to successfully do so since 1923. Though, we make some revenue through memberships, it is not much. The yearly membership fee is on average $125. This fee covers their business plaque and the efforts we put in to assist them all year (social media promotion, ribbon cuttings, mixers, etc). As you can guess, this fee does not nearly cover all of our costs and overhead but it is important for us to keep the membership at a reasonable price for our members. Hosting events, like Oktoberfest and Craft Beer Fest, have not only helped us create a strong community and provided business for our local members but it has also been our main source of revenue. Unfortunately, the pandemic has affected every business, including us. We have created a Gofundme account in hopes that with the help of our community, we can reduce this financial burden we’ve been hit with and buy us some time to plan and execute new events and fundraisers. Adam has worked for the Y for 15 years, previously working at the Hollywood YMCA and the Gardena-Carson Family YMCA. He has a Bachelor’s in Managament, and an MBA from University of Phoenix and is currently in the process of obtaining a Doctorate Degree in Management. Adam is also a member of the La Cañada Kiwanis Club.

I am a multidisciplinary designer and business owner from a small farming town in Indiana. Growing up on a self-sufficient family farm of sorts and foraging in the woods with her artist parents set the stage for a lifelong mission of sustainability and conscious consumerism.
